Thanks for the Warning

I walked into a colleague's office just now and was just about to say Hi when she greeted me with "Get out, go! Now!" She started waving her hands at me to get rid of me.

How rude, I thought, until I finally heard what else she was saying, a little softer than the rest of the words, by way of explanation:

"I just farted. Now get out!"

To think that maybe... you wouldn't have noticed. Whereas now, the whole world knows...

Oh, I'm thinking that if she warned you away, she knew it was pretty rank and you'd totally notice.

I once had a boss who used to crack up laughing at everything I did. For some reason, she thought I was really funny...so funny, that one day while laughing really hard, she let one slip...audibly.

Yikes! At least she did warn you and didn't want you to walk into what could've possibly seemed like a punch in the mouth!
